The Indian Venture Capital Association (IVCA) was established in 1993 as a member-based organization established to promote the development of the venture capital and private equity industry in India. The IVCA pursues this mission through active advocacy and development activities, such as:
  • Facilitating information exchange, communication, and association among all groups engaged in the investment of venture capital and private equity in India through periodic networking and social events.
  • Promoting sound public policy on issues related to tax, regulation and securities through representation to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the national Government.
  • Providing a forum for the professional development of its members and those interested in the venture capital industry through educational and training events.
  • Enhancing ties with leading venture capital/private equity associations around the world, particularly in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
  • Providing information on industry performance in collaboration with domestic and overseas research firms.
  • Publishing information relevant to members including a bi-weekly news update and a quarterly newsletter.

The association currently has 110 members as on date and increasing, which includes among others Sequoia Capital India, Chryscapital, ICICI Ventures, SIDBI Venture, Khsitiz Venture Capital Fund, Anandrathi VCF, IL&FS, IDFC, Infinity Ventures, and Warburg Pincus.

The principal benefit of belonging to the IVCA comes from adding your voice to setting the agenda for the only organization in India solely dedicated to the Venture Capital and Private Equity industry. Members of the IVCA actively collaborate to increase the flow of capital into the industry and expand the range of investment opportunities. This is accomplished by the IVCA undertaking a wide variety of initiatives, ranging from gathering performance and company data to promoting the industry’s interests with governments and regulatory agencies. In addition, the IVCA represents the industry’s interest with international venture capital and private equity associations thereby increasing the ability of our members to connect with global firms about relevant business matters and syndication opportunities.

Membership means being aware of information and knowledge networks that will help your organization  grow and prosper.
